2010 Club Coaching Programme

2010 Club Coaching Programme

22 January 2010

The 2010 ILGU Club Coaching Programme, which is supported by the R&A, will get underway shortly at various venues across the country. The programme is intended to create an overlap in coaching at district level between training and development.  The aim is to provide coaching at a minimal cost to those girls who are not currently involved with district training panels but who have the potential to be selected for such panels and/or an U18 Interprovincial team in the future.

Girls must be under 18 years of age on 01/01/2010 and hold a current handicap of 35 or less to be eligible for the programme. Clubs are asked to nominated girls to attend one of the free ILGU assessment days, from which girls will be selected and subsequently invited to participate in the 2010 Club Coaching Programme.  In total 300 girls will be selected to receive coaching at one of 30 venues across the country.

The programme will consist of 6X2hr coaching sessions with a Junior Golf Ireland approved PGA professional. Participants will be required to pay €50 each towards the cost of the programme, with the ILGU, through the support of the R&A, covering the remainder.

Information regarding the assessments days, including nomination sheets, shall be distributed to clubs over the coming weeks.  More news and information on the Club Coaching Programme in your area will be published on the ILGU District homepages once available.
