Top 10 finish for Stephanie Meadow at 'The Sally' - Orange Blossom Tour, Florida

Ireland's Stephanie Meadow (Royal Portrush) fired rounds of 71, 70, 81 and 80 for a total of 302 to finish in tied 10th place at the at the South Atlantic Ladies Amateur Championship "The Sally" at Oceanside Country Club, Ormond Beach Florida, 13-16 January 2010. Meadow who is a student at the Hank Hainey International Junior International Golf Academy in South Carolina and a member of the Curtis Cup preliminary squad, shared the halfway lead on three under par before disappointing third and fourth rounds saw her slip to a tied 10th place finish. Despite these closing rounds, Meadow can be pleased with her overall performance in the quality field. Early sub par rounds showed that she is more than capable of competing with the top players on both sides of the Atlantic as she challenges for selection on the GB&I Curtis Cup side to take on the Americans in June.
Eventual winner of the title was Florida's Jessica Korda with a total of 275, which included a third round score of 62, to finish 4 shots clear of Candace Schepperle.
Ireland's other representative in the quality field was The Island's Rachel Cassidy, who posted rounds of 80, 83, 80, 85 to finish with a total of 328. Rachel gained a top 20 finsh last week and was the highest placed euorpean at the Harder Hall Women's Invitational, Florida.
