The Australian Spoons were presented to the Ladies Golf Union in 1969 by the Australian Ladies Golf Union.

Each club runs an 18 hole Greensomes stableford competition and the funds raised go towards supporting the International Match Fund. This fund helps our elite players participate in International tournaments.

A pair from each Club goes forward to their District Final. The top 6 pairs at the District Final then go to the All-Ireland Finals.

The next Northern District Final will be held at Cairndhu Golf Club on Tuesday 21st July 2009.
